Tracking of skeletons
The following chapters describe how to define and track skeletons in QTM. The main applications of skeleton tracking are animation, sports biomechanics, and virtual reality and gaming. The specific workflow may depend on the application. Generally, tracking of skeletons involves the following steps:
-
Choice of marker set
Skeleton tracking requires the use of a dedicated marker set. For more information about the available marker sets and the possibilities to customize them, see chapter Marker sets for skeleton tracking. It is also possible to use a custom skeleton definition in QTM, see chapter Using a custom skeleton definition. -
Setting up models for automatic labeling of markers or Traqrs
Automatic labeling of markers or Traqrs is an important part of an efficient workflow. The optimal approach may depend on the application. For the recommended approaches, see chapter Automatic labeling of markers or Traqr configuration for skeleton tracking. -
Skeleton calibration
Create a skeleton definition or update an existing one, see chapter Skeleton calibration. -
Modifying the skeleton definition
Edit the skeleton definition to change the scaling factor, marker weights or segment definitions, see chapter How to modify the skeleton definition. -
Measuring skeleton data
Real time tracking and capturing of skeleton data, see chapter How to measure skeleton data. -
Processing skeleton data
For information about the available processing options, see chapter How to process skeleton data. -
Exporting and streaming
Export or stream skeleton data for further processing in an external program or real time applications, see chapter Export and streaming of skeleton data
For more information about tracking of skeletons, see the following chapters.
