Measurement with analog capture while using pretrigger

When analog data is collected while using pretrigger, an external trigger must be used to start the capture. Activate the external trigger setting on the Synchronization page in the Project options dialog. The external trigger is connected to different connectors on the analog board depending on the analog board type and camera type.

  • USB-2533
Use normal setup with a Sync out signal from one of the Oqus cameras connected to the Sync input of the analog device, see chapters Setting up the analog board. In addition, the external trigger signal should be connected to the first analog channel on the board. This can be done by splitting the trigger input at the camera or sync unit with a T-connector and connect one end to the trigger button and the other end via a BNC cable to the first analog channel on the board.

  • It is important that the pretrigger buffer is full before you press the trigger button. Otherwise you will get an error message from the analog board.

  • The synchronization of the analog data may not exactly coincide with the start of the camera frames, as the time of the trigger start signal may fall anywhere in a pretrigger camera frame. This results in a latency within one camera frame period, which varies between captures.
