The Active Traqr

The Active Traqr is a compact lightweight trackable object for 6DOF tracking. The Active Traqr has four active markers that are identified using sequential coding. This facilitates robust real-time rigid body tracking and identification of multiple Traqrs. The Active Traqr can be easily attached to various types of mounts, for example a screw mount that can be fixed to an object, or strap mounts for use on hands or feet.

Examples of applications in which the Active Traqr is especially recommended are:

  • Location Based Virtual Reality and gaming
    The robust real-time tracking and identification makes the Active Traqr ideal for tracking multiple players and props. The Active Traqr can be used for real-time skeleton solving with only 6 Traqrs per player. In addition, the Naked Traqr allows for seamless embedding of Qualisys active marker technology into props, such as HMDs or VR weapons.

  • Real time control
    The Active Traqr is ideal for real-time control applications in engineering that require robust real-time tracking of the position and orientation of rigid objects. Furthermore, the use of active markers helps to avoid the interference of extra reflections otherwise caused by the strobes of the cameras when tracking reflective objects or in an environment with many reflective elements.

Active Traqr description

  1. Power button
    Push button to start the device. For powering off the device keep the button pressed for about one second until both indicators turn off.

  2. Status indicator

    • Green light: The device is ready for measurement.

    • Yellow light: The device is triggered.

    • Red light: The battery is charging.

  3. Battery indicator

    • Green light: Battery status 16-100%.

    • Yellow light: Battery status 6-15%.

    • Red light: Battery status 0-5%.

  4. USB-C connector
    Connector for charging and configuration of the device.

  5. Active markers
    Four active markers with diffusor.

  6. IR eye
    Infrared detector for synchronization of the device.

  7. Reset button
    Recessed button for resetting the device.

  8. Mount
    Bayonet mount for attaching several types of mounts. A screw mount is included with the active Traqr.
