Project folder
The project folder is used for organizing a QTM project. The folder is displayed in Windows explorer with a special icon
to indicate that it is a QTM project folder. It contains the following files and folders:
-
Data
This is the default location for the captured QTM files. You can create subfolders in this folder if you want to sort the files, for example for different subjects.
-
AIM models
This folder contains all of the AIM models created in the current project.
-
Calibrations
This folder contains all of the calibrations made in the current project.
-
Meshes
This folder contains all of the meshes associated with the current project.
-
Messages
This is the folder for the messages log files.
-
Settings
This folder contains the backups of project settings.
-
Settings.qtmproj
This file contains the current settings of the project.
The project file may change format with a new version of QTM. A backup is saved of the previous version of the file, it can be named for example Settings.qtmproj.ver_100-101.
The project file in before QTM 2.9 was called settings.qps. A backup (.bak) is saved of this file when it is converted to the qtmproj format.
By default, QTM creates projects in the Windows users Documents folder. The default path for new projects can be changed in the Folder options.
QTM does not support the use of network drives or synchronized drives, such as OneDrive. The use of such storage facilities may lead to corrupted data files.
