Creating a new project
A new project is created with the New project option on the File menu or in the Switch project dialog. The following dialog is opened with options to create a new project.
Enter the following information to create the project:
-
Project name
The project name will also be the name of the project folder
. The folder is created automatically if it does not exist at path specified in Root folder path.
To change the project name after it has been created use the Rename Project option on the File menu.
-
Project folder path
This is the path of the project folder. The default is the Documents folder in Windows. Click Browse to change the path.
The Default path for new projects can be set on the Folder options page in the Project options dialog.
If you want several computer users to access the same project, it must be saved in a folder which all users have access to, for example in the C:\Users\Public folders on the computer.
-
Base the new project on:
Select the source of the settings that are used when creating the project with the drop-down box.
-
Custom preset: ...
Any project presets available on the computer are displayed at the top of the list, for more information about the presets see chapter Project presets.
QTM will use the latest calibration made on the computer, that was made with the same cameras (placed in the same order). It means that the calibration may be loaded from another project when switching projects.
-
The current settings
The settings are copied from current settings in Project options. This is the default option when creating a project with the New project option on the File menu.
There is no current project when you start QTM therefore the default option is then Settings imported from another project.
-
Settings imported from another project
Browse for the project that you want to base the new project on and open the project file.
-
Default settings
All settings are set to the default values and all of the current settings are deleted.

Use PAF module
Check if you want to create a project with project automation. QTM includes example projects for Excel, Matlab and Python. If you have PAF analysis modules installed on your computer, they will show up in the list. For more information about PAF, see chapter Analysis Modules.
If you select any of the options other than the Current settings, you will lose the current settings in Project options. If you haven't got any projects in the recent projects list, then the settings are saved in a backup in C:\ProgramData\Qualisys\Workspace backups.
