Scale factor
The scale factor can be used to indicate the scale of the skeleton tracked in QTM relative to an animated object, for example, an avatar in an external animation application. The scale factor can be set in the following ways:
-
By setting the Scale factor (%) value for a skeleton in the Skeletons list on the Skeleton Solver page. For scaling up the skeleton, use a percentage larger than 100%, and for scaling down use a percentage less than 100%.
-
By modifying the value in the Scale tag in the skeleton definition XML and re-importing it in the project. In the XML file the scale factor is defined as the inverse ratio. For example, a Scale value of 0.8 in the XML file corresponds to a scale factor of 125% in QTM. Alternatively, the skeleton definition can also be updated by sending an XML packet via the real time protocol, see the QTM RT Protocol documentation included in the QTM installation for more information.
The scale factor is applied to the following data:
-
Real time skeleton data streamed by QTM.
-
The Skeletons and Characters data in the FBX export.
-
Skeleton data in TSV and MAT export.
The scale factor is not applied to the skeleton data that is displayed in the Data info window.
