How to use EMG

With an EMG (electromyography) device the muscle activity can be measured together with the motion capture. QTM can collect EMG data directly from several EMG devices. For an overview of integrated EMG devices and instructions on how to connect them, see the following chapters.

It is also possible to connect an EMG device via an analog board. Then the EMG device is connected to any free channels on the analog board of the measurement computer, see chapter How to use analog boards. The channels must be activated on the page for the analog board in the Project options dialog, see chapter Channels. The EMG device must have an analog output with an output voltage between ± 10 V.

QTM can be used to record and plot EMG voltage data with the mocap data. For more advanced analysis of EMG data you have to export it to other analysis software.

The following chapters describe how to use EMG systems with QTM.
