Synchronization options

Your Qualisys motion capture data can be synchronized with data from other sensors such as force plates, EMG systems, or eye trackers to give you more detailed information on the motion you are capturing. The following chapters present several different tools such as simultaneous start, sync out, and PTP that can be used to synchronize external devices with your Qualisys system.

A concept to keep in mind when integrating multiple devices is that in order for their data to coordinate, they need to be synchronized in time. The internal clocks on devices may move at slightly different speeds, and while this variation might not be noticeable in short recordings, it could skew your data over longer periods of time. Therefore, for the most accurate results, especially when capturing longer measurements, you should track not only the starting time but also the clock speeds of the devices from which you are recording.
