Connecting Qualisys video cameras

Miqus video cameras can be used on their own or combined with any other Qualisys camera models and are connected in the usual daisy chain. They synchronize automatically with the rest of the system and are calibrated together. Hybrid cameras can be used in video mode as well in a video-only system.

The maximum number of video cameras in each daisy chain is three, so if using more than three video or hybrid cameras, you will need to set them up in multiple daisy chains connected through a 10 Gigabit Ethernet switch. This will also require a computer with the capabilities to handle the extra video data. Please contact Qualisys Support for recommendations.

Depending on your computer’s capabilities, large numbers of video cameras must be set up as multiple systems and synchronized using a camera sync unit. Instructions on connecting multiple video systems can be found in the QTM user manual.
