Recording an AIM trial
To generate an AIM model, you will need to record a motion capture trial with your chosen marker set to define the connections.
An effective AIM trial should cover the full range of motions you are likely to encounter in future recordings. Even if your AIM model will be used for a static measurement, it is important to record some movement in this first trial to ensure that the marker connections are identified correctly.
The only exception is if your markers will always be static—for example, if they’re attached to a piece of furniture.
Once your subject is ready, record a measurement in QTM.
If you are recording human motion, you may want to have your subject begin by standing in a T-pose, which will make it easy for you to label the markers.
While recording, make sure that your subject performs the full range of motion that you want the AIM model to recognize.
When the capture ends, QTM will open the recorded file.
