Hardware requirements

The Cometa Systems integration requires a Qualisys camera system with a Camera Sync Unit. If you have an Oqus system, you need a sync/trig splitter cable (art. 510870) connected to the control port of one of the cameras.

For Oqus users.

If you are connecting an analog board or force plates in addition to your EMG system, you will need a second sync/trig splitter cable. This will be used to connect the other external system through the control port of a different Oqus camera. Please contact Qualisys Sales if you need to purchase a second splitter.

The following Cometa systems are supported.

WavePlus

For use with QTM the Cometa WavePlus system should include the following components:

  • A receiver unit
  • A docking base with power supply
  • WavePlus compatible sensors: Mini Wave EMG, WaveTrack IMU, Pico EMG
  • A trigger box with BNC connector

WaveX

For use with QTM the Cometa WaveX system should include the following components:

  • A receiver unit with power supply
  • A docking base with power supply
  • WaveX compatible sensors: MiniX, PicoX, TrackX, PicoLite
  • A trigger box with BNC connector

Driver install

Before using the Cometa system for the first time you will need to install the drivers. You can download the current drivers via QTM via Project Options>Input Devices>Download device drivers. The following drivers are available:

  • For WavePlus, download the file emgmusbdrivers_...zip.

  • For WaveX, download the file WaveX_driver_...zip.

Follow these steps to install the drivers:

  1. Connect the Cometa base unit to a USB port on the QTM computer. Windows will automatically detect the device.
  2. Unzip the file containing the drivers.
  3. In Windows explorer, locate the folder containing the files that are compatible with your computer (e.g. Win10\x64).
  4. Right-click on the file EmgMUsb.inf and choose Install from the context menu.

Software requirements

The following software is required for configuring and using Cometa Systems with QTM:

Cometa software:

  • EMG and Motion Tools

The Cometa EMG and Motion Tools software comes with your Cometa system, or can be downloaded from the Cometa website at https://www.cometasystems.com/emg-and-motion-tools/. Please, refer to Cometa resources or support for more information.

Make sure that the latest compatible version of the Cometa Systems integration for QTM is installed. Follow these steps to download and install the integration:

  1. In QTM, open the Input Devices page under Project Options.

  2. Click the Download device drivers link.

  3. Download the installer for the Cometa Systems integration.

  4. Run the installer.
