Qualisys system and computer

The measurement system consists of the following parts:

  1. A Qualisys camera system.

  2. A calibration kit.

  3. A stationary or portable measurement computer meeting at least the below requirements. Contact Qualisys AB for more specific recommendations of configurations for a good user experience.

    1. Operating system for running QTM: Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit). The minimum required version is Windows 10, Version 20H1 OS Build 10.0.19041 (also known as version 2004). The Home edition and the Windows 11 SE Education edition are not supported.

    2. For external graphic boards (Nvidia or ATI) it is required to have at least 512 MB built-in memory and support OpenGL 2.1 or higher. For integrated Intel graphics the version must be HD Graphics 4600 or later.

      QTM will start a wizard with fixes for the graphic board, if a problem with the graphic board is detected. Follow the instructions in the wizard to fix the problem.

    3. It is required to have Dual/Multi Core processor of at least 2 GHz each.

    4. It is recommended to have at least 8 GB of internal memory and it is required to have 2 GB for linearization of cameras.

    5. It is required to have at least 900 pixels in vertical resolution to make sure that all of the camera settings are visible in the 2D view window.

    6. There must be an Ethernet card that supports 1000Base-T.

    7. For the built-in help to work you need a web browser that can handle basic HTML5.

QTM does not support the use of network drives or synchronized drives, such as OneDrive. The use of such storage facilities may lead to corrupted data files.

External devices

The following additional equipment can be used with Qualisys systems. For Arqus or Miqus systems a Camera Sync Unit is required for synchronizing or triggering external equipment. Alternatively, for Oqus systems without a Camera Sync Unit a trigger/sync splitter cable or an Oqus Sync Unit connected to the control port of one of the cameras can be used.

  • Analog interfaces (Measurement Computing), which allow capture of up to 64 channels of analog data (e.g. force plate data, EMG sensor data or other user specific analog data).
  • Force plates, digital integration (AMTI Gen5/Optima, Arsalis, Bertec, Kistler, Gaitway3D).
  • Wireless EMG devices (Cometa, Delsys and Noraxon).
  • Blackmagic Intensity Pro and Decklink Mini Recorder cards for video capture, DirectShow compatible DV cameras or standard USB Web camera, with which QTM can record video sequences for documentation.
  • Eye tracking glasses (Tobii)

  1. It is recommend to download the Delsys SDK via QTM via Project Options>Input Devices>Download device drivers to make sure that you use a compatible version. For the current version of QTM the Delsys SDK version is 3.6. The SDK integration requires that the 32-bit version of the Delsys USB drivers is installed.
  2. Requires base station firmware MA2919-BE1506-DS0806-US2008-DA0901/0000 and sensor firmware 40.49 or later. The API integration requires that the 64-bit version of the Delsys USB drivers is installed.
  3. Requires a computer with a PCI Express slot and that the graphic board can handle hardware acceleration. Contact Qualisys AB to make sure that it works on your computer.
  4. Requires Blackmagic drivers 9.7.2 or later and a computer with a PCI Express slot and that the graphic board can handle hardware acceleration. Contact Qualisys AB to make sure that it works on your computer.
