Step 3 – Software

QTM

• Start the QTM software, for example from the shortcut on the desktop.
• Select the correct project, for example PAF Cycling.
• In order to improve trajectory tracking and marker labelling we recommend following QTM settings:
  • In Project Options > Processing switch off 'Gap-fill gaps':

    

  • In Project Options > Processing > 3D Tracking, set Prediction error: 19, Maximum residual: 5, Minimum trajectory length: 2, Minimum ray count per marker: 2, Auto join: Disable.

    

  • In Project Options > Processing > AIM set 'Relative marker-to-marker distance tolerance' to 40%.

    

• If the Project view is not shown on the left-hand side of the screen, select View > Project view or press Ctrl + R.
• All trials are collected via the Project view:
  • All subjects and sessions are added to one Project (for example “PAF Cycling”) – it is not recommended to create a new project for each subject.
  • Trials have to be collected via the red/green buttons (see below) in the Project view and can be found on the hard drive in this structure:

  

• "Go" button can be used to automate the processing of the session data recording. After the"Go" button is clicked, QTM will prompt user to record all trials going through all red buttons from top to bottom. Once a trial is recorded successfully, QTM will automatically initiate recording on the next trial and prompt user to start the recording. This loop will continue until all measurements are recorded or the sequence is interrupted by user. "Go" button will not start any analysis step after all trials are recorded.
